Meet Maria Elisa Smith, MD

Dr. Maria Elisa Smith is an accomplished forensic pathologist with board certifications in anatomic, clinical, and forensic pathology. After earning her MD at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania, she completed her residency at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania and fellowship at the Maryland Office of the Chief Medical Examiner. As Deputy Chief at Forensic Medicine Associates, she oversees daily operations and conducts thorough and objective death investigations to provide families with clear and accurate answers on the cause and manner of death.
